Malelani: Cat Not Yet Spoken, Slip Slidin’ Away, Chico & the Man (04/12/18)

Impromptu outing this evening (rather than staying at home working on harmonies). This half of Dreaming Thomas played Norm’s “The Cat Has Not Yet Spoken”, Paul Simon’s “Slip Slidin’ Away”, and José Féliciano’s “Chico & the Man”.

With Jonathan, here, who sang the blues (with Norm on lead guitar), and played ELO’s “Can’t Get It Out of My Head”. He also manned the video camera – thanks, “Dammit”.

Palatine made his Malelani Café open mic debut in vocally impressive fashion (with a big, warm personality to boot), a harp and vocal sister duet weaved some traditional magic, a rapper did his thing, and Charles, Drew, and the other local denizens did their things with their habitual enthusiasm and aplomb. Jan and Rusty kept things rolling, and played tasteful renditions of folk tunes, with Jan demonstrating her habitual, multi-wind instrument dexterity.

..and Norm had too much coffee.
