McGillin’s: Sister Golden Hair, Breakdown, Dreams Tonight

Dreaming Chris tested the waters at McGillin’s open mic, Center City. Lots of people, with the noisy acoustics  of a traditional Irish pub. The host (Ashton?) made valiant, well-rehearsed efforts to be heard, and did a fine job singing and playing his version of “Trigger”, with some impressive vocal acrobatics and percussive guitar. His amiable cajon drummer accompanist Rob(?) stepped in to lend me a hand, as did Tom on guitar, obviously a regular performer there. Many thanks to you both.

Mainstream vibe in this joint, so a cover seemed an appropriate place to start, hence “Sister Golden Hair”. Bid a hasty retreat soon after playing to catch the night train back to the cave before the Pumpkin Hour…
