The festive, holiday mood at Connie’s Ric Rac. First time visit. It’s one of the little, cinder block boxes lined up along 9th street off of Washington Ave. A welcoming vibe and an interesting mix of hipsters, an energetic emcee with an impressive, blues-tinged voice, a couple of smart phone rappers, a high-volume trio, a variety pack of teenaged phenoms, a student of the Gene Simmons School of the Tongue, and others. It was a good crowd, and pretty full until the kids and their parental entourages left the scene before the pumpkin hour.
Will return with full band…
“Dreams Tonight” and a good chunk of “Breakdown”.
